You might’ve seen Thrasher somewhere on Instagram, or plastered across your friend’s chest (on their favorite-of-the-moment t-shirt, of course), proof that streetwear labels are slowly taking over the local market. And more are on their way as new shop The Nines opens its doors in Taguig targeted for contemporary street style savvy guys. The shop, both digital and physical, brings in a slew of highly coveted artisanal brands; apart the skateboard clothing label Thrasher, it will also have Stampd, I Love Ugly, Odd Future, The Hundred, Publish Brand, Vitaly, Civil Regime, Rastaclat, Suavecito, Richer Poorer, Clear Weather, Reshoev8r, and Blvck Scvle. The new space in Uptown Mall BGC has been set up with an in-house photo studio and styling area, and patrons are encouraged to try on pieces as well as stage impromptu shoots to have their own lookbook-quality photos.Brent Javier, the shop’s co-founder of The Nines shares that their goal is to simply “help spearhead a movement based on stylistic excellence. More importantly though, we aim to project and instill confidence to anyone and all that walk through our doors. I mean, at the end of the day, I think it’s what we all want.”
