A waterproof makeup line that won’t disappoint?

We checked if Swimmables™ by Cargo Cosmetics lives up to its promise

On-the-go girls like me can’t be bothered with makeup and touch-ups. We don’t want to worry about accidentally rubbing anything out of place because sometimes, the label “smudge-free” is misleading. And in humid Metro Manila, who can trust their painted face to stay that way anyway? But when Cargo Cosmetics, a brand that professionals all over the world swear by, recently released water-resistant, long-wear product line Swimmables, it caught my attention. A road test was in order.cargo-2The Longwear Eye Shadow Stick in Sandy Bay is a quick way of injecting some color into your look. It’s satisfyingly pigmented that it only took a swift glide or two on the lids and a tap to blend the cream before it set. I was done in 20 seconds. I then matched this with the Longwear Matte Liquid Lipstick in Portofino. I was doubtful at first because of the bold shade and the horror stories about bleeding. But true to its claim, I found that it really doesn’t smudge or transfer even after many cups of tea. Also, with such high coverage, I couldn’t believe how light it felt. There were no fine lines, cracks, or reapplication even after four hours.

At the end of the day, there weren’t creases on my eyelids nor cracks on my lips. There were even lesser mirror checks than usual. As I wasn’t about to run around the city in the rain, I went home to do a final test. I splashed my face with water thrice. It didn’t budge. This one’s a keeper.
